    Hi guys,

I’m planning a new Ryzen build to upgrade my ‘old’ Ryzen build. The issue I had that my system couldn’t run the memory faster than 2133Mhz. This caused quite some inconvenience. Though, I’ve noticed later that I bought the wrong memorykit. This one isn’t on any of the QVL’s of the motherboard manufacturers or on that of G.Skill. (It’s an Intel XMP set)

    Current setup:
    AMD Ryzen 7 1700
    Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac
    G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3200C15D-32GTZR
Asus Republic Of Gamers Strix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB
    Corsair RM750x

Now I’m looking to buy the following:
AMD Ryzen 3900X (or 3950X when it’s available)
Gigabyte AUROS X570 Master of ASUS X570 VIII Hero
Powercolor RX 5700XT (or I might just wait until Christmas and by maybe a 5800 or 5900 series.)

Over time I’ll go and build a custom watercooled loop into it. Until than I’ll be using the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 and the Noctua NF-S12A 120mm fans I have already.

Here’s the thing. I’m looking for a 64GB memory kit which is also really fast (preferably 3600Mhz) . Though, I’m unable to find proper kits that are available in The Netherlands. And I can’t seem to find out which has the Samsung B die or the Micron E die to make it easier picking a kit… Also I’ll be getting myzelf the Phanteks Evolv X case with the ITX kit to build both systems into one.

I’m curious on what you guys think of the config I’ve put together and I’m open to for your feedback!

    Hi.
For the RAM you won’t get 64GB AND such high frequencies : the only DDR 4 fast RAM kits I see on the market are 2x4GB or 2X8GB. There’s nothing in 2x16GB, let alone 4X16 or 2X32GB. The memory controller on the CPU (Ryzen 3000) can’t accomodate so much ram and such fast frequencies/tight timings.
If you need 64GB (are you sure you need so much ?), you are probably limited to 3000 or 3200Mhz for now, or even less.
There are 3733Mhz kits (2X8GB) that don’t cost too much right now.
Above some 3600/3733Mhz kits, prices are just prohibitive…

There are good prices for 3200Mhz though (you don’t need faster for 64GB), if you preorder on amazon.de :

Thanks! Now I atleast know why all the 3600Mhz kits I’m looking at, are not on any QVL. The memory controller can’t run that much memory at that speed.

And yes, I’ll probably be running 64GB within a year after building. So maybe a good 32GB kit to start with. Would the original kit I bought, the G.Skill kit with C15 (instead of 16 or 14), work when I set it to C14 or C16? Or is that just wishful thinking?
