In my research for storage a came across the Intel SSD 660p 1TB, M.2 at <100€. This looks awesome! M.2 is a little overboard for mid to low end gaming but still. The peformance gain to the Sata drive is worth (at least my) the money.

Are there any potential downsides compaired to an sata drive?

Yeah, m.2s are pretty much reaching price parity with Sata SSDs. There’s no downside, just make sure the motherboard has an m.2 slot and that it can boot from the m.2 drive.

What excatly determits a bootable M.2 slot?
